Spiced Buns (hot-cross without the crosses)

Ingredients

Makes 12 buns Continued...
1 tbspn dried yeast 450 gm plain flour
75 ml milk 3 tspn mixed spice
80 ml boiling water mixed with 40 ml cold ¼ tspn nutmeg
1 tspn caster sugar 200 gm mixed fruit
Glaze 75 gm caster sugar
1 tbspn caster sugar 50 gm butter
3 tbspn milk 1 medium egg

Preparation

Cooking

  1. Bake in the oven for 20 min until golden colour.
  2. Make the glaze by mixing the milk and sugar.
  3. When the buns are cooked remove from the oven and brush with the glaze.

Serving

  1. Allow to cool and enjoy.
