C41 Balti Chicken Tikka Masala
This has been adapted from a restaurant recipe to produce a single portion with
some ingredient and cooking style changes. A very tasty MILD balti curry.

2 - 3 tbspn oil |
¼ tspn dried mint |
30 gm onion (prepared weight) |
1 portion c41 balti pre-cooked chicken tikka |
¼ tspn ginger (grated) |
300 ml c41 balti tikka masala sauce (see note 2) |
¼ tspn garlic (crushed) |
¼ tspn salt |
¼ tspn black onion seeds |
2 tbspn single cream |
¼ tspn black cumin seeds (see note 1) |

Preparation
- Finely chop the onion.
- Grate the ginger.
- Crush the garlic.
Cooking - 7 min
- Over a medium/high flame heat the oil in a wok (or similar) and fry the onion, stirring regularly, for 2 min.
- Stir in the ginger and garlic and cook, stirring, for 30 seconds.
- Add the onion seeds, cumin seeds and dried mint and cook, stirring, for 30 seconds.
- Add the c41 balti pre-cooked chicken tikka, 150 ml of c41 balti tikka masala sauce and salt and cook, stirring regularly, for 3 min, adding c41 balti tikka masala sauce as needed to maintain the desired sauce consistency.
- Reduce the heat and stir in the single cream and cook, stirring regularly, for 1 min.
Serving
- Serve with naan or rice and garnish with a little freshly chopped coriander.
Notes
(1) If black cumin seeds are unavailable use 'ordinary' cumin seeds.
(2) Warm the c41 balti tikka masala sauce before use.
