C41 Balti Tikka Masala Sauce
This has been adapted from a restaurant recipe to produce a single portion with some ingredient
and cooking style changes.
Ingredients
For 1 - makes 300 ml |

20 gm butter |
100 ml passata |
1 tspn oil |
½ tspn salt |
50 gm onion (prepared weight) |
2 tbspn single cream |
1 tspn cumin seeds |
2 tbspn natural yogurt |
¼ tspn chilli powder |
1 tbspn freshly chopped coriander |
¼ tspn ground cinnamon |

Preparation
- Finely chop the onion.
- Chop the fresh coriander.
Cooking - 12 min
- Heat the butter and oil in a suitable pan and fry the onion over a high heat, stirring regularly, for 2 min.
- Stir in the cumin seeds, chilli powder and ground cinnamon and cook, stirring, for 1 min.
- Reduce the heat to low and stir in the passata and salt and simmer, stirring regularly, for 5 min.
- Add the cream and yogurt and simmer, stirring regularly, for 4 min.
- Add the fresh coriander and stir.
- Allow to cool a little and transfer to a measuring jug.
- Add water as needed to make 300 ml, then blend until smooth.
