Pork with Orange Sauce

Ingredients

For 1 Continued...
1 pork chop 1 large orange
30 gm butter 100 ml water
120 gm onion (prepared weight) ½ tspn mixed spice
1 tbspn plain flour 6 - 8 dashes tabasco sauce
1 chicken stock cube salt and black pepper to taste

Preparation

Cooking

  1. Melt the butter in a flame proof casserole to a high heat.
  2. Add the pork chop and quickly brown on both sides, then reserve.
  3. Add the onion to the casserole, reduce the heat, and cook for 5 min.
  4. Stir in the flour and stock cube and cook, stirring, for 1 min.
  5. Remove from the heat and stir in the orange juice.
  6. Return to the heat and bring to the boil, stirring.
  7. Stir in the mixed spice, seasoning and tabasco sauce to taste.
  8. Return the pork to the casserole and cook in the oven for 1 hour.

Serving

  1. Serve with shell pasta and peas.
