Chinese 5 Spice

3 star anise |
½ tspn mace |
1½ tspn sichuan pepper |
½ tspn ground ginger |
1 tspn fennel seeds |
½ tspn onion powder or granules |
5 cloves |
½ tspn salt |
¾ tspn garlic powder or granules |
¼ tspn sugar |
Preparation
- Grind the star anise, sichuan pepper, fennel seeds and cloves to a powder in a spice grinder or equivalent.
- Thoroughly mix all the spices together.
- Store in an airtight jar and keep in a cool and dark place.
